Javelin Selective Herbicide Ref #CJAVE10

Description

Javelin Selective Herbicide combines the synergies of three active ingredients in combination to give the most effective control on a wide range of broadleaf weeds. Javelin has some residual weed control and can be used early in the season with a pre-germination effect.

Key features and benefits of Javelin Selective Herbicide
  • Javelin provides outstanding control of the major broadleaf weeds in turf
  • Low odour formulation
  • Outstanding broad-spectrum weed control
  • Excellent turf safety (cool and warm season grasses)
  • S5 Scheduling – safer when handling, mixing and applying.
  • Low application rates of active ingredient – safer to the public and the environment
  • Non-ester formulation – reduces potential for off-target damage
  • Contains three active constituents for a wider spectrum of broadleaf weed control: combination solution contains MCPA, clopyralid and diflufenican
  • Additional surfactants not required
Important information of Javelin Selective Herbicide
  • Turf clippings should not be used as mulch around other plants or in compost.
  • A slight discolouration may occur on kikuyu and carpet grass.
  • Due to residual effects of diflufenican overseeding treated areas within three months of application may inhibit establishment of the turf grass.
Rate of application of Javelin Selective Herbicide
  • Apply at between 4 and 5 L/ha to actively growing weeds.
  • Use the lower rate for smaller weeds.
  • Complete weed death may take up to six weeks. Faster results can be expected on smaller weeds.
  • Shake the original container before use.
  • Agitate continuously to ensure thorough mixing before and during application.
  • Mix only sufficient chemical for each days work.
  • A surfactant can be added for hard to wet weeds. It should be added after Javelin and water are mixed when the spray tank is almost full.
Critical comments of Javelin Selective Herbicide
  • Apply to actively growing weeds.
  • Transient discolouration may occur on kikuyu and carpet grass and Queensland blue couch.
  • Varietal differences in certain buffalo grasses (eg. ST85) may produce more pronounced effects and it is recommended that small areas be tested for turf safety before largescale application occurs.
  • Avoid exceeding application rates through overlapping sprayed areas.
  • Use a surfactant for difficult to wet weeds.
